Manage conflict before it does damage
A practical one-day course that shows managers how to recognise, manage and resolve conflict – and turn it into an opportunity for healthy change. Delivered at your premises or live online.
Today’s ever-increasing pace of change brings many conflicts of interest into the workplace. These need to be managed and resolved if irreparable damage is to be avoided. This one-day instructor-led course explores how best to manage conflict as a strategy for healthy organisational development – understanding what conflict is, the barriers that prevent resolution, its real costs, and the skills needed to engage with it constructively.
It pairs well with our Assertiveness & Confidence and Management & Leadership Skills courses. Browse all our management & leadership training courses, or run this course as a live remote class via Microsoft Teams.
What conflict is, the early warning signs and our own standpoint.
Why conflict goes unresolved – and what it costs in productivity and stress.
The benefits of resolution, common ground and the change it can bring.
Managing your own behaviour, engaging and channelling skills, and third-party intervention.
In-house half-day and full-day prices are per course for up to 6 attendees, plus £45 + VAT for each additional attendee. The actor-led option is quoted individually and is not limited by group size.
Anyone with management responsibilities – particularly those who anticipate an argument every time a specific issue is raised, or who lack the skills to stop a destructive situation continuing. No previous training is needed.
Managers, supervisors and team leaders who need to prevent, manage and resolve conflict within their teams – and anyone who finds certain issues always seem to end in an argument.
Conflict management is about recognising conflict early and handling it so it does not become destructive; resolution is reaching an outcome both sides can accept. The course covers both, along with the skills to manage your own behaviour.
Yes. The in-house fee covers delivery at your premises or as a live online class via Microsoft Teams – same trainer, same content, same materials.
Yes – every in-house course starts with a free training needs analysis, so the examples, exercises and emphasis are built around your organisation and the situations your people actually face.
Conflict is one of the conversations managers most dread – and one where practice makes the biggest difference. Our actor-led option adds professional actors to the training day, so your managers practise real conversations with someone who responds exactly as a colleague would – and get feedback on how it landed. Find out more about training with professional actors.
Every attendee receives reference materials and a course completion certificate, and we provide free post-course telephone and email support.
Our half-day and full-day in-house prices are based on groups of up to 6 people, and the actor-led option can be run for any group size. If you have a larger team, or several teams to train, please speak with one of our team to discuss this further. We will help you work out the best way to run it and put together a tailored quote.
